Rob Machado is one of the most famous surfers in the world for a good reason: of all the surfers sliding around on waves on this watery planet we call home, Machado might very well be the smoothest. His surfing is like butter on warm toast, smooth like satin-wrapped porcelain. It’s effortless, like the gliding pelican just a few inches off the water early in the morning before the wind picks up.
The great thing about surfing is that it’s done in the ocean, a place for everyone to enjoy. That means that even if you’re the best surfer on Earth, you need to ply your trade in the same water that the average Joe plies his. “Caught legend Rob Machado in the wild not long ago,” wrote Steve Cummings, aka Jacuzzi Surfer. “Along with one of the best surf photographers ever, Todd Glaser.” And while the surfing is wonderful, we’ve got a few questions we’d like answered about that surfboard, Rob.
