Well, winter is here. That depends on where you live in the world, of course, but it certainly is for Northern Hemisphere surfers, and for them, that means good things. Good things like a quiver built for various conditions – a quiver like the one Rob Machado is showing off here.
Of course, Rob Machado is… well, he’s Rob Machado. He’s one of the world’s best surfers, slightly built and lithe like a cat. As such, his quiver might differ a little from the rest of us in terms of size and volume, but getting all that dialed is part of the fun.
In Machado’s case, a winter quiver consists of basically three boards. Sure, he’s got a few extras here and there, but three is generally a good number if you’re looking to cover the basic bases. For Machado, that quiver is a stock 5’0″ Too Fish, a stock 5’2″ Seaside, and a stock 5’4″ Mashup, all surfboards built a little more for the everyman and a little less for the high-level pro.
