Photos lie often when it comes to surfing. Don’t get me wrong, Los Angeles has its moments just like any other place when the swell comes in from just the right direction and the sand bars are set up perfectly. But that doesn’t actually happen much. Here’s a recent Saturday shot in the South Bay for a quick reality check of what a typical swell in Los Angeles is really like.
