To get a proper warm up, you don’t need to be the guy stretching on the beach for 20 minutes before you paddle out. Instead, do this quick 6 minute yoga series before you even leave your house. Even if you’re trying to beat the morning crowds, you can easily set that alarm 5 minutes earlier to get your body stretched out to prevent injuries. This series warms up the arms and shoulders, stretches out the hips, and opens up the back. If you can commit to doing even a portion of this routine before you paddle out, you’ll be all the more prepared for the session ahead.
