If you have surfed Rincon on a good day, there is a good chance that at least one of the waves you got will remain forever burned in your memory. It’s not called the Queen of the Coast for nothing—it is a wave that can be as close to perfect as perfect gets.
The area around Santa Barbara suffered through some dark times recently with apocalyptic fires and devastating mudslides. There was, however, a glimmer of light a few days after the slides: a decent run of swell that lit up that famed right-hander. Luke Davis, Jett Schilling, Yadin Nicol, Curren Caples, Jake Kelley, Griffin Colapinto, and Mike McCabe are all featured in the edit above, and the locals were surely happy to have something else to think about for a while.
