The East Coast's Zak Bush. Photo: Imonetti .

Zak Bush lives in Canada’s Halifax, Nova Scotia and has been taking photos for two and a half years. It all started after he broke his wrist in a skateboarding accident and was told he’d be in a cast and unable to surf for four months. He held a night job so he could surf during the day, so that left him with a lot of time on his hands. He kept searching for surf with his friends, but instead of getting in the water, he stayed dry and took photos. During those four months, the feeling of getting a good wave was replaced by the feeling of getting a good photo. He still loves to surf, but feels that his photography is synonymous with it. He contributes regularly to Canada’s SBC Surf, and has worked with Slide, Surfline, and ESM.
