José V. Glez was born on the Spanish Canary Island of Tenerife in 1973. He became fascinated with the surf, the waves, and the spirit of the surfers when he was just fifteen years old. His father’s help initially was hugely important, as he purchased José V. his first camera.
But José V. wanted more. He created his own surf magazine entitled Radical Surf, a publication that is still on the market and still selling well sixteen years after its creation. His total dedication to his craft has been crucial in acquiring the recognition and the reputation he now happily enjoys in the media, not only in Spain but also worldwide.
But it is not only surf photography that appears on his curriculum. He has diversified and is now also a specialist in several other fields, including portraits and landscape photography, among others.
He travels constantly to surf competitions all over the world, and photography has become his whole life. The photographs he takes are characterized by his skillful use of light, and a personal touch which gives the pictures a unique quality.
