With just a week to go until the opening of the 2024 Championship Tour season at the Pipe Pro, Banzai Pipeline decided to flex its muscles. Though the season is far from over, Monday, January 22nd was a day that YouTube channel Oahu Surf Films is calling the best of 2024 so far.
“Monday morning, surfers from around O’ahu and pros in town for the Lexus Pipeline Pro awoke to a perfect big Pipeline,” wrote Oahu Surf Films in the description of their latest YouTube video. “It doesn’t get any better than this. I counted a total of 7 broken boards between 8-11am.”
With all those pros warming up for the CT season, the lineup was a who’s who of the pro surf community. Featured in the video are Shane Dorian, Koa Smith, Josh Moniz, Balaram Stack, Italo Ferreira and more. Luckily for the WSL (and us), they all made it out of that monster day unscathed. “No one was seriously hurt, but lots of people paid their dues,” concluded the description.
