The first real swell of the winter started hit the North Shore near the end of October. Pipe surfers waxed up and wind-milled their arms in preparation, and as the swell built, things got big. As is often the case, the first bit of it was a little disorganized. But as time progressed, things cleaned up. Patience is a virtue, they say. “With a steady NNW swell coming in at 11 feet, 15 seconds at 327 degrees,” wrote Raw Days on YouTube, “things soon paid off for those who waited.”
