If you’ve surfed around Southern California, you’ve almost certainly been lucky enough to share the lineup with a handful of pelicans. They fly low and fast, gracefully and quietly, their wingtips skimming the surface every now and again. At sunset, it’s hard to beat the sight of a silhouetted pelican, the sun behind it as it silently cruises through the air. Some, though, are not so graceful. Like the one in the video above, courtesy of Evolution Films Photo. After attempting to burn the surfer and steal a tube from him, the pelican gets a taste of instant karma.
