The Inertia

When it comes to livable vehicles (or trailers), I’m a bit of a geek. Or a dreamer. There’s nothing better than getting out of the surf to all your earthly belongings packed up in a nice livable package right there on the beach (well, maybe not all of them). But a place to call home, whether you’re holed up in a campground, or stealthily sleeping on a street corner (we’ve all been there) just to make sure you can feed the rat in the surf or snow.

I suppose that’s why this little ditty caught my eye. It’s called the Flow from the brand Pebble, and it’s an all-electric trailer with a design team that hails from Apple, Tesla, and Volvo. You can kind of see that with the design. The Pebble – which was unveiled in November, 2023 –  is 25 feet in length, 7’6″ in width and 8’8″ high. So plenty of space. It boasts a 37-gallon freshwater tank and can supposedly go off grid for seven days on one charge, according to the manufacturers (it also has solar capabilities).

The thing looks kind of space agey, and it definitely has some futuristic touches. One of the most interesting, and probably something that should have been thought of before, is the auto hitching feature, where you can use an app to control the internal motor on the Pebble to hitch it to your ride. That is genius.

The video above is for marketing so know that before you watch, but it is a solid look at a trailer that would be pretty lux to tow down the Baja or park in a ski resort lot for the weekend. Either way, this is definitely a new entry into the trailer/RV genre.
