Even though they come from the same stock, watch either of the Coffin brothers attack a Rincon wall and you’ll see two wildly different approaches. Most obviously because, well, Conner is a regular foot and Parker’s a southpaw.
But, beyond that, Parker’s surfing fits more squarely into the hi-fi category – a fact that often gets lost when talking about Conner’s “old soul” power surfer rail game. In the video above, Parker’s approach is on full display as he unpacks his love for his native Santa Barbara and what it was like growing up so close to Southern California’s premier point break.
Santa Barbara though, as you’ll see, is so much more than Rincon. And for those willing to work a little harder, there are some local beach breaks that finely groom sandbars to create thumping tubes.
