Over the course of the past week, Indonesia was the welcome recipient of two serious groundswells. While both were good, the second one had a lot more west in it. Which, as you know, is just about perfect for Padang Padang, the wave so nice they named it twice.
Padang Padang is a barrel machine and, like most good waves, is slightly tide-dependent. Since low tide on May 30 was at 6 p.m., that machine really started to work at about 4 p.m. Once the wheels were properly greased, the machine was running as smoothly as a diesel engine. Since it was a Sunday afternoon, the locals showed up to play, and what a show they put on.
