Owen Wright defeated Kelly Slater in the final day of competition at professional surfing’s first million-dollar contest, The Quiksilver Pro New York. With the win, Wright collected $300,000 as well as second place in the ASP World Title Rankings, behind – Kelly Slater.
“I’m just lapping it up right now,” Wright said. “I’ve always wanted to be in a final with Kelly and last week at Teahupo’o was great. I think Kelly is ready for payback already.”
