Oscar Langburne is many things. He’s an incredible surfer. An advocate. A person unafraid to speak his mind – someone who will call bullshit when he sees it. Those are rare qualities in someone of Langburne’s age.
“I think people sort of thought I was someone I wasn’t a couple of years ago,” he said. “I was probably just trying to find myself as a young kid. I still am, but now I know I’m truly myself. I like what I like; I’m not a part of any particular group. I don’t follow the herd. That’s my biggest moral: just to stay true to yourself.”
In RVCA’s most recent offering, we see 12 minutes of that. Just Oscar Langburne, surfing the way he surfs. And it just so happens that the way he surfs is very, very pleasing to the eye.
