On November 28th, I heard about a large swell that would hit the coast of Portugal. I don’t have the greatest zoom lens, so I spent the night tossing and turning, trying to decide where to shoot. Eventually, I headed to Praia do Norte. It turned out to be a good decision.
It was Saturday 29th November, at 6:30 am when we arrived. It was out-of-this-world beautiful – the sun was just peeking over the edge the ocean, the colors of the sky were astonishing, and the waves were truly huge.
Massive and powerful, the waves at Praia do Norte are unlike any other. And with the perfect light, I felt more excited than I have in a long time. My partner and I were the only ones on the beach, as all the professional photographers were safely installed high on the cliff.
