The Inertia

Most people surfing massive Jaws are not strangers to few things: large wave and larger wipeouts. One will never get to the level of surfing that Jaws regulars have attained without first experiencing some of the worst wipeouts imaginable. Remember Mark Healey’s Puerto wipeout in 2015 that probably would have killed a lesser man? Yeah, us too. That one’s hard to forget. All that to say that Healey is sort of (SORT of) used to this kind of thing. It goes without saying that when surfing waves of this size, he expects to wear a few bombs on the head. And, with big wave lineups around the world getting more and more crowded, this kind of thing is bound to happen more and more frequently.
