Not many people have heard about the Danish surf scene and for a good reason. It’s not exactly what you associate with a typical surf nation.
Nevertheless, surfing is gaining popularity. Today, I went for a little photo shoot withe the Danish Surfing Champion Chris Hartkopp. He’s 21 years old, and he eats, sleeps and breathes surfing. These photos are shot at his local beach in the northern part of Sealand. The temperature was four degrees celsius; we had a cold northern wind, small waves and clear sunshine.
Chris was out there for nearly four hours despite the very cold conditions, and after a while, I began to look a little blue from standing still in the freezing northerly wind.
