Mason Ho simply can’t be stopped. Recently, he took a trip down to Southern California to rehabilitate an ankle injury sustained in April. Lucky for us, his doctor gave him the okay to surf, and Mason took to some ankle-slappers to show everyone he’s still got it.
Mason’s board choice was actually quite interesting for this one. Since he was in town for rehab and didn’t expect to surf, he didn’t bring any of his own boards with him. As a result, he just walked into the …Lost factory, grabbed a stock MR x Mayhem California Twin and drew on some DIY sponsor logos with a sharpie. Though the resulting creation has a sort of punk rock aesthetic that actually hearkens back to …Lost’s origins, Mason warns any aspiring pros against the practice. “I think the kids out there should not do this. This is unprofessional,” he tells the camera.
Despite his cobbled together surf-craft, Mason shows that even with an injury and humble SoCal waves, he can still rip better than any of us. A few locals get a front row seat to the show, as he takes off on an air right in front of a surf school. After seeing that, they’ll either be chasing that dragon for the rest of their lives or throw their foam boards in the trash on the way home.
