This is “just another” boat trip with some surfers from Tofino. It’s starting to be a common image in West Coast Canada surfing’s video, but the reality is that most of our best waves are exclusively accessible by boat.
This was one of the coldest weeks of the year as New York’s Balaram Stack and California’s Chase Wilson joined up with Tofino’s Raph Bruhwiler for a solid three days of freezing surf. Featuring some remote left hand points, big chunky tubes, rights near Tofino, and even Killer Whales. These guys got to see it all in a very short visit. Coming to surf in Tofino and not surfing beach break is a rare experience unless you’re hooked up with Raph. He has a knack for knowing where to find the goods.
