The Inertia

In the late fall and winter months, the North Shore of Oahu is surfing. Period. Pipeline – the deadliest and arguably one of the most photographed waves in the world takes center stage, and Rocky Point, Sunset Beach, V-Land, and Waimea are all steeped in surf history. We often forget that due south from the Seven Mile Miracle lies the crucible of modern surfing, Honolulu.

The reputation of Oahu’s south shore has been overshadowed by the breaks to the north for decades now, but that doesn’t mean the place can’t still crank, especially in summer months when the North Shore is notoriously flat. So, without further ado, here’s a tribute to Honolulu, lovingly referred to as Town, courtesy of Noa Mizuno. Bet you didn’t know it could look like this.
