The Inertia

Summer is flying by and fall is right around the corner.  For me, fall can’t come soon enough. Autumn is my favorite time of the year in New Jersey for many reasons. For one, we still get warm water until the end of October. Also, after Labor Day, all of the tourists leave, so there are less crowds in the lineups. In the summer, New Jersey charges for beach access, and for most beaches, that stops after Labor Day. We also get some of our best swells this this time of year without having to put on a 5-mil.  Last year, we got a series of amazing swells starting out on the first day of fall, which continued well into winter. This gallery is some of my favorite shots from last fall. We’re all crossing our fingers for a similar situation this fall.
