Is it far too early to be waxing nostalgic about the 2015/2106 El Nino? Shane Dorian is probably still shaking from it, so maybe not. Dorian might have been the best surfer of the season–he was certainly the busiest. In the fourth episode of Reef’s Just Passing Through, Shane goes from huge barrels at perfect Cloudbreak to hugest barrels at Jaws, and he does it without skipping a beat. There’s a bunch of never-before-seen footage, which, in this day and age, is a hard thing to come by.
On Reef’s Youtube page, it says “if Shane is in the lineup, you know you are at the place to be.” If Shane is in the lineup at massive Jaws, though, there aren’t many people that actually want to be there. Shane had an incredible year, not only surfing some of the best waves he’s ever surfed, but winning both the XXL Performance of the Year and XXL Wave of the Year.
