Gary Linden continues to tap into a fountain of youth we could all use a drink from. Maybe that fountain is surfing? If so, then Mr. Linden is still a very young man. The podcast and video-production YouTube page, Real Surf Stories, captured this little gem above with Gary surfing a significant swell event in the Caribbean. And the man makes it look fun.
Gary, of course, is an essential part of the surfing fabric – as a shaper (based out of Oceanside, Calif.), and as a surfer, especially in the big wave realm. He surfed Jaws as recently as 2015 (in his mid sixties) and Puerto Escondido in 2016 (last we checked). Gary has given back to the big wave world, too. As the former president of the ASP, he established the Big Wave World Tour in 2009. If you’re whining about feeling old today, shut your pie hole. Gary is the inspiration you need.
