The Inertia

As you’ve likely seen by now, Nazaré flipped the overdrive switch on October 29. The swell, produced by Hurricane Epsilon, produced waves at the world’s biggest break so giant it was dubbed “The Century Swell.” As expected, a handful of the world’s best tow-in big wave surfers were there, and it was a day none of them will ever forget.

As French President Macron was announcing his country’s second Coronavirus lockdown, Felix Misslin and the Nokte Studio team was already en route from Biarritz to Nazaré to capture the madness on camera. And here, in stunning 4K footage, is the edit they stitched together. It’s a fitting tribute to a swell that might only come around once-in-a-lifetime.
