The tension before the Jaws contest last week was palpable. In Nathan Florence’s latest vlog, the talk pre-contest is ripe with conversations about weird food and nervous bowel movements. But can you blame anyone in their right mind for being nervous about surfing Jaws with 50-foot faces and the threat of the notorious Maui winds? Not one single, tiny bit.
Nathan had an insane contest, as we now know, finishing third, making the final and threatening now four-time champ Billy Kemper the whole way. In short, he surfed fantastically well and suffered through at least one mighty beating at the hands of Peahi.
