As Skeleton Bay starts to fire, professional surfers are descending on Namibia. We recently saw Jamie O’Brien make the trek out to hunt the mythical 20-minute barrel in his latest YouTube offering, which also showed a fleeting glance of Nathan Florence in the lineup. Now, from Florence’s channel, comes the full story of his own adventure to Skeleton Bay.
The travelogue, as seemingly required by law, began in an airport, where Nathan, Zoard Janko and Cole Christensen walked through the terminal sporting head-to-toe Florence gear. However, Nathan’s regular cast of characters was augmented by a new guest: Kai Lenny.
“I just hopped on the slab tour, the score tour, whatever we’re calling this one,” explained Lenny. “The swell looked big. Nate called me up and I was stoked to say ,‘Yes, lets go.’” Kai added his characteristic touch of innovation by bringing a kite board to the proceedings.
Also, based on a quick Koa Smith cameo, we can be sure to see yet another Skeleton Bay travelogue from him, too.
