Nathan Florence is doing okay these days. He’s one of the most talented big wave surfers on the planet, fresh off a win at Red Bull’s Cape Fear. He usually makes an appearance during every major swell around the world, which has been documented heavily over the past year in what’s now one pretty popular vlog.
Consider that his brother also happens to be a two-time CT World Champion and possibly the greatest competitive surfer on the planet currently, and Nathan’s wave of success becomes even more interesting. He’s carved a path for himself on fairly new territory, establishing a career that wouldn’t have even been possible just a short while ago, and much of the surf world is regularly invited to watch as it unfolds on YouTube. This is a career that was virtually unimaginable even a decade ago, let alone in the early days of guys like Rob Machado pioneering the “freesurfer” career path.
Still, the Nathan is talented enough, interesting enough, and funny enough that even a regular YouTube upload doesn’t really quench our thirst. So he’s gifting us with a full-length feature on July 2 called There and Back Again: The Adventures of Nathan Florence.
