Nazaré is a wild place. The waves can be massive, yeah, but it’s not often super clean. Bumps in the face the size of a regular wave loom up at surfers moving at breakneck speeds. The inside is not a place anyone in their right mind wants to be. So when people woke up on January 8th and took a look at Nazaré, they probably gasped. It was huge. Not only huge, but incredibly clean for Nazaré. Not only huge and clean, but incredibly consistent for Nazaré. It was a dream day.
“Still speechless on what went down yesterday,” Nic von Rupp wrote on Instagram. “I really gave it all, from sunrise to sun down.. some of the biggest most perfect waves I had ever seen!”
