Mikey Wright has an unreal mullet. He comes from serious surfing stock–but while Owen and Tyler are racking up points on the tour, he’s surfing the waves he wants, when he wants… and without the pressure. His surfing isn’t exactly what you see on tour, either, although it probably should be. It’s not three to the beach, and it never will be. It’s Mikey Wright to the beach. It’s fast and powerful and angry. The frantic paddle at the 1:30 mark is indicative of how he approaches waves, and there’s probably no better musical match up than Rage Against the Machine.
