Mikey’s in Morocco. That’s just about all the backstory we get for the latest surf edit from Michael February, entitled MOROCCO (SIDE A).
The video starts with a closeup of a man working a potter’s wheel, juxtaposed with quick shots of churning barrels off the North African coast. From there, February lets his surfing do the talking, and it has quite a lot to say. What follows is five minutes of the boundary-breaking South African surfer nimbly dancing over waves with breakneck speed and his signature effortless style.
The video is the first of three installments, to be released every Tuesday in the coming weeks. The film was produced by February’s company Spearhead Unlimited and directed by Ian Thurtell.
