Corgis are not made for the ocean – with tiny stumps for legs and round, barrel-shaped bodies, they can barely keep their heads above water. They’re more like overgrown hamsters. They have regal and often snotty personalities. The Queen of England has a whole royal fleet of corgis. They’re about as fit for the ocean as Donald Trump is sitting front row at the premier of Straight Outta Compton, or Gary Busey teaching a guided meditation class. But I digress. One corgi has blazed a path for his other four-legged brethren, fearlessly taking to ocean in search of some tasty waves. Meet Super Jojo, the surfing corgi.
In honor of National Dog Day (because of course that’s a thing), we bring you a few clips of Jojo, adorably clad in a doggy lifevest, and taking to the waves. Surprisingly, the pup looks fairly comfortable in the water, except when he falls off his board and struggles for dear life. After honing his skills on the shores of San Diego, Jojo even jaunted over to Hawaii to test his metal in some real surf. Move over John John Corg-ence. Lick Fanning? Kai Corg? Joel Barkinson?
