On Tuesday, November 12, Maverick’s awoke from its winter slumber. The last time we heard from the break was during the historic swell that slammed into Half Moon Bay at the end of last year. However, the return of winter means the return of horrifyingly large surf, and videographer Tucker Wooding was there to witness it, as documented in the latest video posted to his YouTube channel.
The edit is a beautiful collection of drone shots, from a photographer who has proven himself time and time again as one of the best out there at filming heavy water (for evidence, look no further than his edit of the best waves of his career). Of course, the film would be nothing without the Maverick’s regulars who showed up to the call of the wave’s siren song. This time, the lineup included Mason Barnes, Alo Slebir, Wilem Banks, Luca Padua, Ryan Augenstein, Jack Akrop, Zoe Chait, Peter Mel and Jojo Roper.
