The first big swell of the season hit the Wedge April 17, 2024. While the weather was less than ideal, the waves were bigger than forecasted, making my trip to Newport Beach a great one.
The fog was rolling in and out all morning long, making it quite difficult to film at times. But the new south swell was definitely filling in, dishing out some of the best rides I’ve ever seen at the Wedge. It was quite a sight to behold and definitely made the weaving in and out of Southern California gridlock on the way to Newport worth it.
Enjoy my take from the sand. This was a great way to kick off the summer south swell season.
