The Inertia

Tahoe is known for its abundant snowfall in the winter and blissful lake lounging in the summer. However, the massive storm, “Pinapple Express”, that slammed the Pacific west coast Thursday afternoon stirred up the local waters enough to deliver some decent surf to the frigid shores of Lake Tahoe.

According to the National Weather Service, the storm provided waves up to 7 feet and wind gusts up tp 135 mph on Thursday. If the storm would have slightly strengthened, it would have classified as a category 2 hurricane. Conditions were considered “dangerous” for water activities, but that didn’t stop the few surfers in the area from going out and enjoying Mother Nature’s rare gift. Kudos to these brave, cold-blooded lads.
