As you’re reading this, there’s a very good chance the Vans Pipe Masters is running. It’s always up in the air until the last minute, but if the waves that hit the North Shore’s shiniest gem in the video above are anything to judge by… well, Pipe is going to be a good contest.
The swell was angled just about perfectly for Pipeline, so Mason Ho and many of the other surfers who are invited to the invite-only event were out there putting in the work. Sure, they’d be out there either way, but one last chance to dial in the equipment and get their feet in the wax never hurts anyone.
