When Mason Ho was growing up, he had a favorite wave. It was Val’s Reef, a strange little wave on the inside of Sunset Beach. “It’s a tricky wave to ride with weird dead spots,” Mason wrote. “A random shallow reef shelf and backwash.”
But “tricky” doesn’t look so tricky when Mason is surfing. And, as a spot that he’s been surfing since he was just a kid, he knows the ins and the outs like the back of his hand. He’s surfing on a ..Lost surfboards RAD RIPPER on a material called Light Speed Performance Epoxy, and he’s making it look good, if we do say so ourselves.
