The Inertia

Rocks are generally something to avoid when you’re surfing. Sure, they’ll pop up here and there — it’s part and parcel of surfing — but for the most part, dry, exposed rocks are not exactly what one looks for when deciding where to surf. Unless you’re Mason Ho, that is.

He’s made a bit of a name for himself doing his rock dances (see here, here, and here), and frankly, it’s surprising that he’s got any skin left on his body. It’s understandable, given his ability on a surfboard, that he’s so willing to surf over exposed hunks of reef on a regular basis, but it’s always entertaining to watch.

One would imagine that he’s hit plenty of rocks over the course of his surfing career, but the allure of a good wave with a minimal crowd often proves too much for him. He recently found himself in possession of a new GoPro Hero 12 and decided to give his viewers a POV of what it’s like doing his rock dance.

“Yesterday morning Mason Ho grabbed a new GoPro HERO 12 and surfed his beloved garden of rocks,” the video’s description reads. “Maybe having a little too much fun, he decides to have an actual taste.”
