The Inertia

With the Olympics over, it’s time to go back to our regularly scheduled programming. Four thousand miles from the 2024 Olympic surfing venue of Teahupo’o, North Shore ripper Mason Ho was joined by John John Florence and a host of other talents to tear up Oahu’s Rocky Point.

If there’s one thing Mason Ho is known for, it’s making the unsurfable surfable. Usually, this takes the form of him winding his way through shallow, rock-infested boneyards. However, his latest feat was being able to conjure up an off-season swell with just enough power to not only rip the absolute bejesus out of, but also summon fellow Oahu surfer (and recent Olympic competitor) John John Florence.

“One summer day of swell, a morning session and an afternoon session,” wrote Ho in the caption of his latest YouTube offering, which detailed the day in question. “In the morning session we bumped into John John and some more friends ripping! In the afternoon session it got bigger and less crowded.”

If Mason and John John sharing a lineup isn’t enough for you, there’s also appearances from the likes of Gavin Beschen, Makana Pang, Flyn Novak & Landon Macnamara.

You can see it all in the video below.
