The Inertia

When Mason Ho takes you to a favorite break of his, you better watch out. That’s because the definition of “break” for Mason is a little different than it is for pretty much anyone else in the world.

In this case, the spot in question was a hollow wave breaking directly onto a bunch of jagged rocks. Most surfers wouldn’t even consider it to be a viable option but Mason Ho and Sheldon Paishon brought along All Day Dylan and Kalani Ryan for a quick and memorable session.

From there, they switched to a more traditional spot. A standout moment from that segment comes at the 4:55 mark, where Ho rebounds off the lip to make a full one hundred and eighty degree rotation somersault. As his feet point to the sky, the filmer exclaims “Holy f***, Mase,” before sighing and pointing his camera up to a rescue chopper that happens to be passing by overhead. It’s a moment where you realize that the people filming Mason are probably more stressed out than he is.

Finally, Mason takes his board to the beach to give the audience a look. It’s a unique craft, made of agave wood by Agave Brothers Ranch. The solid material seems to be perfect for Mason’s preferred playgrounds. “No dings, even though I surf one of the dumbest places to surf,” he commented.
