At the end of July, Hurricane Douglas gave the Hawaiian Islands a decent sideswipe. For a few hours, it looked like Dougie was going to give the full brunt of its wrath, but it decided to veer away at the last second. Things still went pretty haywire, though, and when it swung by about 45 miles north of Maui as a Category 1 hurricane, the ocean was whipped into a frenzy. Mason Ho was there, as one would expect. He found weird waves among the madness, also as one would expect.
