The Inertia

Isn’t it funny that there’s a wave pool in Hawaii, of all places? There are waves aplenty on that island paradise, yet Wai Kai created The Lineup. It’s a deep-water standing wave, spanning 100 feet. The waves are adjustable, going from two-feet to head high. It uses Citywave technology, and it works a bit like the Waimea River wave or the Eisbach River in Munich. It’s a different kind of surfing, but surfing isn’t just stuck to the ocean.

The Ho family recently took a little trip to Ewa Beach to give it a shot, and since the Ho family includes Mason and Coco, the surfing was on a pretty high level. It wasn’t just Mason and Coco, though, and the level of skill from the average Joe in Hawaii is a lot different than anywhere else. Surfing in the ocean is the best thing ever, but a wave pool sure does do in a pinch, doesn’t it?
