A little while ago, Mason Ho, Not Deane, and Clay Marzo headed to France for an event called the Quicksilver Festival. Held at Hossegor, the event itself is far from your typical CT contest. It featured two-person teams and novelty challenges like best tube, best combo, twin fin heats, and so on.
Mason and Clay are two of the best surfers in the world. Two of the most entertaining surfers to watch, as well. They can both do things on surfboards that most people can only do when they’re mind-surfing. Both look at waves in a different light — a light that no one else can see. And on one of those stormy days in France, they hooked up with Noa Deane and Eli Olson to find a few waves to surf. They did indeed find waves to surf, but they weren’t exactly perfect. But when you’re Mason, Clay, Noa, or Eli… well, you can do a lot with a little.
