The Inertia

Main Break certainly did what everyone hoped it would do on day two of the Margaret River Pro. It was very big. Very powerful. Very good to showcase what, exactly, the world’s best surfers are capable of doing. A perfect event to separate the wheat from the chaff. It’s the event that will send part of the field down to the Challenger Series, where they’ll have to try and re-qualify for the big show. So it’s a good thing that it’s not happening in junk waves, right?

Day two was a day for powerful surfing, and John John Florence came out swinging. Is there anyone who matches powerful waves with powerful surfing better? John has quite the history at Margaret River. Remember the time he basically made the rest of the tour look like they’d never surfed before? There’s just something a little different about the way he rides Main Break, and we wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if he won the event.
