Surfing and a picturesque sunset are among life’s most perfect pairings. Almost every surfer will have some fond memories of sitting in the ocean with friends, scoring great waves, all while the sun sets beautifully on the horizon.
Unfortunately, in Western Australia, strong cross shore winds are usually blowing along the coast at this time of day. It tends to ruin any chance for a a pleasant evening surf, much less a session worthy of dreams.
But like anywhere else, there’s always the odd day where the wind stays light enough to sneak in a surf through the golden hour.
This video is one of those beautiful evenings matched with some pumping surf in Margaret River. With the sun setting over the ocean, Griffin Colapinto, Kolohe Andino, Zeke Lau, Conner Coffin and more put on a show on picturesque backlit waves.
