Los Angeles kicked off 2021 with a big swell that has produced solid surf lasting nearly a week here in Southern California. The video above is part one of a story that I put together about chasing these waves. The first swell, filmed on the first Saturday and Sunday of January, brought plenty of size but left us wanting for better shape. Hope springs eternal that this swell moved the sand around enough to give us a nice combo of both size and perfect shape for the rest of the week. Stay tuned.
