The Inertia

[LORNE] Foam Day from Alexander Cleland on Vimeo.

Several days ago, the shoreline of Lorne was transformed into a foam party.

We gathered for the morning surf check at Lorne Point, then my mates Jack and Moona suggested we hit north Lorne to see if the conditions were right for “Foam Day.” The stunning display occurred thanks to the raw swell agitating the water, strong southeasterly winds and over 150 millimeters of rain washing down a large amount of organic material into the turbid waters of Louttit Bay. We only get to observe this phenomenon every few years, and this was the most impressive we had seen so it was an easy choice to wettie up and get the cameras out. I’d like to credit Jack’s rad camera skills for the pioneering concept of “foam tunnel” vision that he captured. I hope you enjoy the video!
