Desert Point is a perfect wave. That doesn’t mean it’s an easy wave, although Jonathan Gubbins make it look like one. He’s able to do it because he puts his time in–Gubbins is a regular face in the lineup when the conditions line up. He is a tube hunter par excellence, a man who loves the view from inside. There’s no place on earth that offers quite the same view as Desert Point, and on this particular swell, Gubbins took it in for a long time.
