$Shane Jones of Jonesea Wetsuits (@jonesea) hanging “tensil.” Jonesea is a one-of-a-kind wetsuit entrepreneur and artist. I was fortunate enough to become his team photographer last year and I couldn\'t be any more stoked on the custom suits he has provided me. He called me one afternoon and excitedly explained to me how he made a Santa Clause wetsuit and we needed to shoot with it ASAP. This timeless shot, alongside a few others, resulted from this session, which will remain in my memory forever. $This was my first time shooting with Kelia Moniz (@keliamoniz). Her style and personality is about as good as they come. I asked if she was interested in linking up sometime to shoot and she asked me if I would be up for a dawn patrol session in Malibu in the morning. Extremely stoked, I got up to First Point too early and took a nap and woke up to a completely flat sea. We ended up going to a spot up the road, and although conditions were not optimal - especially for longboarding - we decided to go out anyways. It was not long after I followed Anna on Instagram that I respected her refreshing style of surfing, photography, and outlook on life. After briefly speaking to her at First Point about the unfortunate Santa Barbara oil incident that occurred a few months ago, I thought it would be epic to shoot some photos. The sunrise this morning was incredible; waves not so much. Regardless, it was an epic time wading in the Pacific as the light slowly crept above the hillside. $Mike Siordia (@zigzagsurfer), charging with style at a spot that usually doesn\'t look this empty. Shooting from the beach can become boring and hard to concentrate—especially during gloomy weather conditions. So, shooting slow shutter is always a way to challenge yourself and spice things up. Mike was one of the first people I starting shooting logging. We’ve got some money shots throughout the last year, but this is definitely one of the best. $Hudson Ritchie (@huddaddy) has one of the sickest styles I’ve seen in and out of the water. I’ve only known this South Bay grom for a couple of months, but in that time we’ve been able to create some pretty epic images and videos. This photo was shot during an impossible morning at El Porto with horrible conditions and awful weather. But it was Huddaddy’s birthday, so we cruised out for a bit to see what we could get. I snapped this slow shutter five right away and was pretty stoked regardless of the crap waves. We probably would\'ve stayed out longer, but a decent sized shark was hanging out close by and he didn’t feel like taking any chances on his birthday. What I enjoy about capturing longboarding is the fact that regardless of the conditions. You can pretty much always get good images from every session. I also like the less aggressive, laid back lifestyle that typically parallels longboarding.
