It’s hard to doubt a Navy SEAL. They’re some of the most highly-trained military personnel in the world and have seen things most of us couldn’t even begin to comprehend, so when one of them has some interesting advice about sharks, we’ll listen. Former Navy SEAL Clint Emerson wrote a book about survival, and he sat down with Business Insider to discuss how to survive a shark attack. “To be realistic, throwing a punch in the water is like slow motion, anyone that can pull it off, give me a call,” said Emerson. Somebody needs to give Mick Fanning this guy’s phone number.
Emerson then talks about poking a shark in the eye or grabbing the giant predatorial fish by the gills. That would take some serious luck and nothing in the shark world happens that slow. Does he mean, as the shark grabs on to your femoral artery, you have time to counter with the old ‘two-eye’ poke? Anybody that can pull that off, give us a call.
